AI art has absolutely flooded this site. I just turned my AI content filter on, and all but about two of the front page's pieces have disappeared. It's absolutely wild to me that there are so many people audaciously unashamed of circumventing the entire craft and years of skill building to put their name on a piece of computer-generated art. AI art is art, but it isn't artistry. If we're going to be honest, we can't just plug our ears and shout what we want to believe. By most metrics, it IS art. But that's not the problem. The problem is that the value of art is earned in the labor--not how long it takes or how hard you worked, but in the knowledge and intuition of the craft itself, and how those principles are applied. AI art is specifically tailored to circumvent this in the name of the presumed virtue of accessibility. AI in the various fields of art will test the nature of creation without labor or craft, eventually answering the question of whether or not meaning in art is
